The Blastbeat Programme (Higher)
The Blastbeat programme is aimed at teenagers between the ages of 13-18.
Teenagers form an ESE (Event Social Enterprise), and are tasked with staging a live event in their local community. Each ESE is divided into 3 teams‚ Business, Creative & Events‚ and each team has a number of tasks to complete in order to stage a successful event. An ESE runs as a real business, meaning that students can make a profit from their event, of which 25% must be donated to a local cause of their choice. This fosters good social entrepreneurial principles in teenagers, whilst forging stronger links in local communities throughout the country. Blastbeat encourages teenagers to use core skills such as Literacy and Numeracy to complete a project that is relevant and exciting to them.
